The Dean's Commendation for Research aims to reinforce to graduate students the importance of publications in peer-reviewed international journals and books of international publishers for their research.
Students are recognized for having excelled in their research by publishing papers in peer-reviewed international journals or international refereed book chapters.
The Dean's Commendation for Research will be presented in the form of a certificate by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning.

My PhD journey at NIE has been deeply enriching. HSSE labs have great software and equipment. The administrative support is stellar—everything runs smoothly thanks to the highly efficient and dedicated staff. The campus itself is very conducive: green and serene with breezy architecture. The NIE Library stands out as the most scenic I’ve encountered, with outstanding facilities and staff that foster focus, and useful collaborative spaces too. I’m deeply grateful to my supervisor Assoc Prof Edward Park, co-supervisor Wang Jingyu, and my Thesis Advisory Committee—Prof Chang Chew Hung and Assoc Prof Yun Sang-Ho—for their invaluable guidance and insight.

Pursuing a PhD in Education at the Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) department at the National Institute of Education has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made. Throughout the programme, I had the privilege of learning from outstanding professors, including my supervisors, as well as engaging with insightful peers. In particular, conducting an in-depth study under effective and passionate guidance helped me discover the true value of educational intervention research. The opportunities for collaboration with peers and professors on publications have also been an invaluable part of my journey.
