A study by Associate Professor Setoh Peipei from SSS@NTU's Psychology Programme has found a strong link between maternal grandparental childcare and increased maternal warmth. Data from 615 mother-child pairs showed that mothers receiving childcare support from their mothers exhibited more positive parenting behaviours. This highlights the critical role of maternal grandparents in enhancing mother-child bonds.

The study has been featured on major platforms like Phys.org, MSN, Acemaker Parenting, and Lianhe Zaobao, emphasizing its insights into family structure, childcare, and parental well-being.
