WKWSCI Changemakers Series - From Disruption to Innovation: The AUX Journey into Virtual Production

Industry leaders are redefining the future of communication, media, and technology — and the WKWSCI Changemaker Series brings their stories directly to students. This new series by the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) aims to inspire the next generation of changemakers by showcasing diverse career paths and transformative journeys across the communication, media, and creative industries.
The first session featured Choong Chyi Kei (CK), CEO and Founder of AUX Media Group and a proud WKWSCI alumnus. In his talk, “From Disruption to Innovation: The AUX Journey into Virtual Production,” CK shared how he turned the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic into opportunities for innovation — pioneering Singapore’s first immersive LED volume studio and leading the region in Extended Reality (XR) production.
His story also resonated with WKWSCI’s own push toward immersive media education, marked by the recent launch of the School’s new XR Studio. The discussion offered students valuable insight into how adaptability, collaboration, and creativity can drive the future of storytelling and content creation.
The Changemaker Series will continue to feature industry leaders who are shaping the evolving landscape of communication and media, offering students an inside look at how innovation, purpose, and passion come together to make an impact.
