NCPA Delegation Visits Xi’an to Advance Academic Collaboration and Alumni Ties in Western China
To further expand in-depth collaboration with leading universities in western China and strengthen alumni engagement, the NCPA delegation visited Xi’an from 22 to 24 September 2025. The visit included exchanges with Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, and other institutions, as well as exchanges with NCPA alumni based in the Shaanxi Province.
Led by Professor Liu Hong, Director (Research & Executive Education), NCPA, along with Dr Wang Hang, Deputy Director, NCPA, the delegation’s first stop was to visit Professor Shan Zhiwei, Vice President, XJTU, who extended a warm welcome and affirmed the longstanding foundation of cooperation between XJTU and NTU, Singapore.
Professor Shan emphasised the importance of expanding interdisciplinary and cross-regional collaboration under the new global landscape. He expressed XJTU’s commitment to advancing substantive cooperation with NTU and NCPA in diverse areas such as academic research, talent development, and innovation.

At XJTU’s School of Public Policy and Administration, they held constructive discussions with Professor Dong Xinyu, Party Secretary, Professor Zhou Zhongliang, Dean and Professor Du Wei, Vice Dean, and other faculty members to explore potential joint master’s programmes, research collaboration, and student exchange initiatives. Both parties agreed to leverage their respective strengths in education, research, and public service to accelerate the implementation of collaborative projects.
The successful coordination of this visit was made possible with the support of Associate Professor Zhang Zehao from XJTU’s School of Public Policy and Administration, an alumnus of NCPA who conducted postdoctoral research at NCPA from 2020 to 2021. NCPA extends its sincere appreciation to Professor Zhang and to all alumni whose continued engagement and support have contributed to the NCPA’s growth.

During the visit, the delegation also met with Mr Wang Haibo, an accomplished alumnus of NCPA and Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. Mr Wang expressed gratitude to his alma mater and fondly recalled his time at NTU. He affirmed his commitment to supporting future collaborations between NCPA and Shaanxi’s education sector to enhance school-community partnerships.

In line with its mission to attract top talent and enhance alumni engagement, the delegation hosted a Master’s Programme Information Seminar in Xi’an.
