南大研发新型塑料镀膜 涂上一次既防雾又抗菌

Lianhe Zaobao noted that scientists at NTU had developed a new type of anti-fog coating for plastic surfaces claimed to last for years without the need for reapplication. The coating was also said to be able to break down contaminants such as bacteria and dirt when exposed to sunlight. This new coating overcame the current limitations of anti-fog sprays and wipes, which were temporary since they could not withstand washing and must be reapplied regularly. The coating could be used on spectacles to prevent them from misting up while face masks were worn and the effect was said to last for as long as one to two years. NTU's research team had filed a Singapore patent for the innovation and was looking to strike up industrial collaborations to take the innovation from lab to market.
