பிள்ளைகளின் மனத்திறன் வளர்ச்சியை ஆராய ஆய்வ

Tamil Murasu carried reports on a new study which hopes to examine how cognitive development takes place in the first four years of children's lives, and understand why some children were not able to speak as early as others. The study, which was awarded a grant from MOE in 2020, was the first tie-up between the National Institute of Education (NIE) and SingHealth Polyclinics. It is targeting some 1,000 children who visit the polyclinics in Punggol and Tampines for regular health screenings. The study was jointly led by co-principal investigators Anne Rifkin, head of infancy and early childhood research at NIE's Centre for Research in Child Development, and Tan Ngiap Chuan, director of research at SingHealth Polyclinics. Rifkin said the study was purposefully designed to look at 21st century skills in children, and is the first in Singapore to do so for such an early age span and over several visits.

பள்­ளிக்­கூ­டங்­களில் படிப்­பில் வெற்­றி­பெறத் தேவைப்­படும் தேர்ச்­சி­கள், ஆற்­றல்­கள் பிள்­ளை­களிடம் எப்­படி மேம்­படுகின்­றன என்­பது ஆய்வு மூலம் தெரி­ய­வ­ரும்.

காலப்போக்­கில் அத்­த­கைய திற­மை­கள் எப்­படி வளர்ச்சி அடை­கின்­றன;

தவ­ழும் குழந்தைகளிடம், சிறாரி­டம் அவை எப்­படி மாறுபடு கின்­றன என்­பனவற்றை கண்டு பிடிப்­பது அந்த ஆய்­வின் நோக்கம் என்று தெரி­விக்­கப்­பட்டது.

கல்வி அமைச்­சின் மானி­யத்­து­டன் அந்த ஆய்வு மேற்­கொள்­ளப்­படுகிறது. மானியம் சென்ற ஆண்டில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.

தேசிய கல்­விக் கழ­கம், சிங்­ஹெல்த் பல­துறை மருந்­தகங்­கள் இரண்­டுக்­கும் இடைப்­பட்ட முதல் முயற்­சி­யாக இடம்பெறும் அந்த ஆய்­வில் ஏறக்­கு­றைய 1,000 பிள்ளை­களை உள்­ள­டக்­கு­வது இலக்கு என்று தெரி­விக்­கப்­பட்­டு உள்­ளது.

ஆய்­வுக்­காக செப்டம்­பர் முதல் குடும்­பங்­கள் சேர்க்­கப்­பட்டு வரு­கின்­றன. இது­வரை 200 சிறார்­பதிந்­து­கொண்டு இருப்பதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
