ஆற்றல்நிலை கலவையால்‌ அகண்ட நட்பு வட்டாரம்‌

Tamil Murasu reported on the findings from an ongoing NIE study on the impact of Full Subject-based Banding (Full SBB) that students with different abilities forged more friendships across academic streams when brought together in a form class. Secondary school students in mixed-ability classes said nearly 40% of the friends they had in school were from different streams, while students in schools with single-stream classes said 7% of their friends were from different academic streams. The study found that friendships were driven by shared interests rather than academic ability, and form class activities were the catalyst for most friendships. More than 3,000 students in 10 schools took part in the study, and interviews were conducted with more than 150 students, teachers and school leaders.
