TeamNIE Kicks Off Best Foot Forward 2026 with Strong Community Spirit

TeamNIE launched this year’s NTU Best Foot Forward 2026 with an energetic showing at the X-Campus Run flag-off on 6 February 2026, bringing together a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students and alumni in support of a meaningful cause.

Dressed in a sea of pink, 127 members of the NIE community gathered bright and early to champion the NIE Advancement Fund, which celebrates student excellence and provides financial support to student teachers. The enthusiastic turnout set the tone for the campaign, reflecting a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of educators.

Leading the charge was NIE Director Professor Liu Woon Chia, joined by NIE Faculty and Staff Giving Ambassador Mr Paul Lincoln, who participated in his new role, and President of the NTU NIE Alumni Association, Mr Benjamin Alexander Chua, who recently assumed office. Their presence underscored the strong partnership between faculty, alumni and the wider NIE community in advancing teacher education.

The event was not only a celebration of movement and wellness but also a powerful demonstration of collective purpose. As participants crossed the starting line, they symbolically took the first steps in a journey of giving, reinforcing the importance of community support for aspiring educators.

TeamNIE also celebrated outstanding individual achievements at the run. Ng Yew Cheo clinched 1st place in the female category, while Assistant Professor Elisa Prosperetti secured 3rd place, adding to the excitement of the day.

With the physical run marking the beginning of the campaign, participants will now continue the momentum through the virtual run, walk and cycle segments, where every stride contributes towards supporting the NIE Advancement Fund.

Best Foot Forward 2026 is off to a strong start and with the continued dedication of the NIE community, every step taken will help empower future teachers and strengthen the impact of education.
