Researchers from the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice publish three journal articles
Researchers from the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), Dr Tay Lee Yong, Dr Christina Ratnam-Lim, Dr Phillip Towndrow, Dr Lee Shu Shing, Dr Chua Puay Huat, Miss Monica Ong, Miss Thaslim Begum, and Miss Kalaivani Ramachandra have published three articles in various academic journals. The articles are:
- Teacher reflection: Call for a transformative mindset, where the main objective of this paper was to examine how teacher reflection could result in possible change in practice. 436 primary and secondary school mathematics teachers took part in an online survey, where the findings suggested that there were no major differences in teacher reflection based on their years of teaching experience, designation, and teaching levels.
- Empowerment through distributed leadership in reconciliating tensions and dilemmas in teacher professional development, where it featured a case study on how a school, recognised for its excellence in staff well-being and development, reconciles teachers’ tensions when they engage in activities for professional development.
- Implementation of online home-based learning and students’ engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic: A case study of Singapore mathematics teachers, where this exploratory study attempted to elicit eight mathematics teachers’ considerations and perspectives in designing online home-based learning (HBL) lessons for the engagement of elementary and secondary students, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced school closures in Singapore towards full HBL.
