NIE alumnus Dr Iskandar Jalil honoured with the Distinguished Service Order 2026

The NIE is proud to celebrate the achievements of our distinguished alumnus, Dr Iskandar Jalil, who has been awarded the Distinguished Service Order 2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Singapore.

Widely regarded as one of Singapore’s pioneering master potters, Dr Iskandar has dedicated his life to the arts, inspiring generations of students, artists and educators through his passion, creativity and commitment to excellence.

As the NIE community congratulates him on this well-deserved honour, visitors can explore his artistic legacy at the NIE Library and through the online exhibition, “A Master Potter’s Philosophy & Process”.  More than a showcase of ceramics, the exhibitions are a tribute to a lifelong pursuit of learning, teaching and service.
