Launch of the second edition of poetry anthology, Little Things (Ethos Books)

ELL faculty members, A/P Loh Chin Ee and A/P Angelia Poon, together with ELL/NIE alumna, Esther Vincent, launched the second edition of their co-edited poetry anthology, Little Things (Ethos Books), on 12 July 2025 at Thryft, a secondhand books, clothes, and vinyl records shop. Little Things was first published in 2013 and is well-known as a text for lower secondary school Literature students. The second edition includes a new introduction, a wider selection of poems, and a whole new section entitled ‘Our Earth’. At the launch, all three co-editors spoke about the process of putting together the second edition and about the enduring significance of poetry. This was followed by a reading of poems in the anthology by their authors—Madeleine Lee, Shilpa Dikshit Thapliyal, Meenakshi Palaniappan, Tessa Kaur, Maureen Yeo and NIE-PhD candidate, Ow-Yeong Wai Kit. The launch was a family-friendly event with balloons and bookmark-colouring stations for children.
