BH featured linguist Dr Mohamed Aidil Subhan Mohamed Sulor, who noted that value-based teaching had been implemented in Malay language education in Singapore. In his talk on standardising the Malay language, Dr Aidil Subhan stressed that the assessment aspect of the teaching and learning process must be thorough and holistic. He also highlighted the perspectives of language researchers on the design and planning of the Malay language towards 2065, and the requirement that the language design had to be implemented solely by MOE. He concluded that the expertise of Malay language graduates should be mobilised to seek a database of the Singapore Malay language corpus, which could then be used in the context of society and then approved as a term used in Singapore.
