Guru dilatih tangani pelajar agresif: MOE
BH noted that while teachers have been trained to handle and respond to a variety of situations, cases of harassment and threats against teachers were not common in schools. This followed an incident at St Andrew's Secondary School in which a viral video showed a student confronting his teacher. An MOE spokesperson stated that teachers were equipped to handle disruptive students as part of the classroom management training they received under their teacher preparation course at NIE. Disciplinary actions such as counselling, community service, suspension from school, and caning could be used to punish students who turned aggressive toward teachers.
