ELL faculty and student present at 2025 United Kingdom Literacy Association Conference

Associate Professor Loh Chin Ee, Dr Christine Xavier, and doctoral student, Mr Edmen Leong, presented their papers at the United Kingdom Literacy Association Conference at the Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom. Dr Xaiver presented on Inclusive Grammar Teaching for Diverse Learners in the Writing Class, Edmen presented on Key Factors that Foster Reading Motivation Among Readers with Dyslexia and A/P Loh participated in two panels on adolescent and young adult reading. A/P Loh was awarded the UKLA Academic Book Award for her book, The Reading Lives of Teens: Research and Practice. During the conference, a position paper, The Decline in Volitional Reading: Evidence-Informed Ways Forward, co-written by the International Reading Experience scholars group and  completed as part of the NIE IRC Seed Grant was launched.
