Dr Pereira Andrew Joseph co-publishes a journal article in the Teaching and Teacher Education Journal
Dr Pereira Andrew Joseph, Education Research Scientist from the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP), co-wrote an article titled “Governmental Neoliberal Teacher Professionalism: The Constrained Freedom of Choice for Teachers’ Professional Development” in Teaching and Teacher Education journal, Volume 125. The article explores teachers’ professional development (PD) decisions through the lens of governmental neoliberalism and examines the paradox of teachers’ constrained decisions in PD activities within the sociocultural context of Singapore. The findings help to illuminate some of the issues teachers face in PD decision-making, as well as recommendations to enhance teachers’ autonomy for a governmentality to broaden education horizons.
