Dr Melvin Chan Publishes in the British Journal of Educational Psychology

Dr Melvin Chan, Asst Dean (Knowledge Management) at the Office of Education Research and Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice, NIE, has published in the British Journal of Educational Psychology.

The paper, titled “Multidimensional profiles of parent involvement: Antecedents and impact on student engagement” addresses how to study parent involvement in school, which has been inconsistently defined and measured. This was done through a person-centred approach, which also found a case for continued school-family partnerships among secondary students.

The paper was accepted without revision in the British Journal of Educational Psychology, a Tier 1 journal with an impact factor of 3.24.

NIE staff/students can access the journal for free through the LIBRIS portal at https://ntu-sp.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/jsearch?vid=65NTU_INST:NIE
