Asst Prof Lim Fei Victor Invited to Provide Commentary and Speak on Multimodality
Asst Prof Lim Fei Victor, from NIE’s English Language and Literature Academic Group, was invited to provide commentary by the .ed Magazine and to speak at a seminar based on his research in multimodality. Asst Prof Lim shared findings from his projects on “Integrating Multiliteracies into the English Language Classroom: Developing an Instructional Approach to Teach Multimodal Literacy (Critical Viewing and Effective Representing of Multimodal Texts)” and “Multimodality and Pedagogy (MaP): A Systematic Review”.
The commentary in .ed Magazine, published by the Global Citizenship Foundation is on “The Possibilities of Digital Play in Advancing Effective Social and Emotional Learning”, where Asst Prof Lim advocates that digital play can be used productively to develop social and emotional learning in the youth.
He also spoke on “Redefining Engagement with Students’ Lifeworld in Multiliteracies Learning” at Macquarie University, School of Education’s Seminar Series, on 12th October 2021. Using data collected through his project surveys and interviews, Asst Prof Lim invited attendees to reflect on their students’ expressions of their experiences and expectations on multiliteracies learning to bridge their out-of-school literacy practices with what and how they are learning in school.
