Assistant Professor Azilawati Jamaludin and Dr Tan Aik Lim publishes a paper in the Journal of Current Psychology

Asst Prof Azilawati Jamaludin, Assistant Dean at the Science of Learning in Education (SoLEC) and Assistant Professor at NIE’s Learning Sciences and Assessment Academic Group (LSA AG), along with Dr Tan Aik Lim, Research Fellow at the Office of Education Research (OER), have published a paper titled "Psychophysiological methods to study the triggers of interest: a Singapore case study" in the journal of Current Psychology.

The paper investigates triggers of interest using a novel psychophysiological measure of electrodermal activity together with traditional behavioural measures, with findings highlighting the use of electrodermal activity as a promising indicator of triggered interest. Through a psychophysiological lens, study findings reinforced current research that interest is triggered through multiple sources at any one time, emphasising the need to design learning activities using various mediums to encourage student engagement.
