FacTEL

The Faculty Tech-Enabled Learning (FacTEL) professional development series is developed by the Centre for Innovation in Learning (IN-Learning) in partnership with the Office of Academic Faculty Affairs. FacTEL aims to transform technology-enabled teaching and learning in NIE, by encouraging and equipping faculty to rethink and innovate their pedagogical approaches.

Why FacTEL?

FacTEL aims to develop digitally fluent faculty in NIE by focusing on both digital fluency competencies and dispositions. It will cover key aspects of learning design and digital content development, while leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and learning analytics to enhance teaching and learning. This programme encourages the co-designing and co-developing of technology-based teaching and learning

What support will I get?

Every Department is paired with an IN-Learning Specialist as a collaborator to provide ongoing support, feedback, and encouragement, and to create a supportive environment for participants to ensure translation into practice.

NTULearn UCV marks the next phase in the institute’s digital learning journey, introducing a responsive website design that supports learning on the go while keeping pace with the latest AI affordances. These include the automatic generation of quizzes based on uploaded materials and AI Conversation, which provides students with an interactive learning partner. In this feature spotlight, Dr. Rebecca Chan, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Child & Human Development, shares her experience as an early adopter of NTULearn UCV and how she has integrated its new features into her teaching and learning practice. AI Conversation with Dr. Hanin

NTULearn AI Conversation is designed to support teaching faculty by providing students with an interactive AI partner to guide their learning and encourage deeper engagement. As part of the institute’s transition to the upgraded version of NTULearn, this feature offers new opportunities to integrate AI into lessons, facilitate meaningful conversations and support students’ development.
