Medical and Psychological Wellness
The University has a medical centre on campus currently run by a private medical group, Fullerton Healthcare Group. It is an outpatient clinic equipped to provide a full range of general practitioner care for students, staff members and their families. Dental services are also available at the medical centre.
The University, in line with the practices of other universities and with reference to broader societal development, encourages all employees to take a proactive stance on self-care as well as caring for colleagues. Hence, as part of the suite of employee wellness programmes, a dedicated University Wellbeing Office (UWO) has been set up on campus for the convenience of all employees. Staff members may also make an appointment with the NIE Wellness Centre for psychological services and counselling.
Campus Recreation and Wellness (CReW)
Campus Recreation and Wellness (CReW) aims to build a collegial and active campus community, while fostering a vibrant work, live and play environment, and enriching campus life.
CReW offers a variety of activities such as social, healthy lifestyle wellness events, and organises Inter-school games for all staff (employees) of NTU/NIE. This effort not only enhances the vibrancy of campus life but also promotes social integration of NTU/NIE employees.
Canteens, Food Court and Fast Food Outlets

Sports & Recreation Centre
The University has a Sports & Recreation Centre with a wide array of sports facilities, including an Olympic sized swimming pool, outdoor running track, tennis courts and gymnasium. Staff members are eligible to make use of the sports facilities by paying a nominal fee. Please click here for more details.
Private Chartered Buses
A large number of staff in the University commutes to and from work by private chartered buses by paying a monthly fee. These buses travel to most parts of Singapore along designated routes with designated pick-up points
Service 179 & 199
The nearest train stations to NTU are Boon Lay (EW27) and Pioneer (EW28) on the East West Line.
From Boon Lay station, make your way to the adjacent bus interchange. SBS Transit Ltd, a public bus company, provides 3 services, 179, 179A & 199, between Boon Lay Bus Interchange and the University.
NTU Shuttle Bus Service
Three fare free Shuttle Bus Routes serve the campus. Bus routes 'Campus Loop–Blue' and ‘Campus Loop–Red’ circle NTU with ‘Campus Rider’ venturing off-campus to and from Pioneer MRT station (in front of Blk 649A). There are six car parks in the NIE campus which are open to staff, students and visitors. More information is available here.
All staff members have access to the NTU and NIE Libraries, which have a wide range of books, journals and publications. The NIE Library and Information Services Centre is the largest education library in Singapore and provides resources to support the teaching, learning and research programmes of the Institute. It also reaches out to meet the needs of the education professionals in the Ministry of Education, schools and other related organisations.
