Virtual #askLKCMedicine2025 Session

Over the past six weeks, LKCMedicine held a series of engagement sessions for students keen to apply to the School next year. These are held just as the application window for the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) opened on 17 June. UCAT is an admission requirement at LKCMedicine, and with it being an important component for entry to LKCMedicine, the outreach team sees it necessary to engage our prospective students on what it takes to apply to LKCMedicine, and to study medicine. What went on at those sessions – two held virtually, and one onsite at the Novena Campus on 4 July? We bring the highlights.

LKCMedicine Admissions Assistant Dean Associate Professor See Jee Jian and students share generous tips on admissions process, curriculum map, and student life at the medical school.

A TBL demo held online, led by Ms Yang Lishan, LKCMedicine Lead for TBL Facilitation.

Khayr Eddin Bin Ahmad (M1) and Emily Megan Ho (M2) providing authentic and engaging insights as a medical student, including highlights of student life at LKCMedicine.

On-site #askLKCMedicine2025 Sessions

For those eager to engage directly with LKCMedicine faculty and students, the onsite #askLKCMedicine2025 session on 4 July offered the perfect opportunity. We hosted around 120 pre-university students, teachers, and parents at the Learning Studio of our Clinical Sciences Building.

Assoc Prof See explains our admission process, requirements and application needs, while students  Madhumitha (M1) and Nigel Lee (M3) shared their personal journeys at LKCMedicine.

Through the TBL interactive session by Ms Yang, aspiring medical students gained an authentic glimpse into the School’s distinctive TBL approach, observing firsthand how students work in teams and express their answers and opinions.

As with the virtual #askLKCMedicine2025 sessions, the onsite event also saw a lively exchange of questions and answers by attendees. It was inspiring to witness pre-university students and parents remain after the session to connect with our faculty and students, keen to learn more about studying at LKCMedicine and the path to becoming a doctor.
