His Op-Ed provides rational support to the online home-based learning approaches carried out by local teachers, and argues that the conducive features of online learning environments should be wisely utilised to empower students in taking charge of their learning, both individually and collaboratively.

This could lead to a new normal in school-based pedagogy beyond the pandemic, allowing seamless integration of technology into formal lessons, and the potential for blended learning (a combination of classroom and online learning) in both primary and secondary schools.
