调查: 技能是否符合业界需求雇佣认知差别大
Lianhe Zaobao highlighted Min/MOE Chan Chun Sing’s speech at the SkillsFuture Month@SIT, where he pointed out that the gap in understanding between employers and individuals on whether employee skills could meet the needs of the industry meant that people must be more proactive in upskilling, and employers must also strengthen communication with employees to fill up the gaps. Min Chan added that institutes could strengthen the lifelong learning system from two aspects, including bringing cutting-edge knowledge from the industry into the classroom more quickly, and to ensure that the teaching faculty is in touch with new developments. Min Chan also said that NIE has laid a solid foundation for training teachers. In recent years, the government has also invested a lot of resources in NIEC, to train preschool education teachers. He also pointed out the need to strengthen the motivations for reskilling and upskilling among adult learners. In addition, Min Chan highlighted that SSG will publish its inaugural annual skills report this November.
