The NIE NTU hosts The Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference 2022 with the aim of transforming education and strengthening society

The nineth Redesigning Pedagogy International Conference (RPIC), hosted by the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NIE NTU, Singapore), will be taking place from 30 May to 1 June 2022 with Minister for Education, Mr Chan Chun Sing as the Guest-of-Honour for the opening ceremony. Centered around the theme of “Transforming Education & Strengthening Society”, it comprises of online keynote sessions, paper and poster sessions, symposiums and exhibitions to take on a future-oriented and re-imagining of schools and education to focus on how education can be more transformative.

The hybrid conference will bring together more than 1,000 representatives from neighbouring countries from Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines, Indonesia and beyond to forge new and innovative directions for educational research as well as broaden professional networks regionally and globally. There will also be opportunities for multi-stakeholder interactions, sharing of international leading-edge research and best practices across schools and cultures on top of in-person workshops and masterclasses hosted on campus. The line-up of keynote speakers, paper presentations, panels, workshops and symposia will provide an engaging platform for the conference delegates to creatively explore the answers to these critical questions. The synergy where research informs practice, and practice, in turn, serves to inform research is a welcomed highlight of theoretical-empirical researcher sessions.

The flagship conference will feature more than 400 presentations in the form of keynote presentations, paper sessions, workshops and symposia which will be divided into 24 strands. This provides an engaging platform for conference delegates to creatively explore answer to critical questions. Notable research projects across several disciplines in local education research projects led by research scientists will also be featured concurrently.

Additionally, the conference will be hosting 27 symposiums, providing industry experts a platform to discuss educational matters. Five Inaugural Masterclasses will be introduced to highlight the innovative work of the various NIE research centres that informs teaching and learning. They include research presentations on neuroscience literacy in teacher education, supporting students with special educational needs in primary schools, student well-being in the areas of peer networks to inform policy and practice in the early years and discuss how Artificial Intelligence can be leveraged to support and augment teaching and learning in classrooms.
