SCCCE hosts ASEAN Education Ministerial and Senior Officials' Visit to NIE on 23 July 2026

As part of the ASEAN Education Ministerial and Senior Officials' Meeting in Singapore on the 23 July 2026, delegates visited the NIE to observe how Singapore's ASEAN Chairmanship focus areas are enacted in practice. Prof Tan Oon Seng, Centre Director, SCCCE, presented on Singapore's distinctive approach to teacher education, where values and character development are placed at the core of teacher professional learning. Delegates were hosted on a guided tour by Prof Tan to the NIE Visitor Learning Centre to learn about NIE's past, present, and future. Through an interactive segment at the Proof-of-Concept room, delegates were also provided with a first-hand look at how NIE's purposefully designed learning spaces empower educators to teach in flexible and innovative ways, supporting diverse CCE pedagogies that are technology-enabled and student-centred.
