Dr Khng Kiat Hui Interviewed on Reducing Test Anxiety

Dr Khng Kiat Hui, Asst Dean (Research Management) at the Office of Education Research and Research Scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development, NIE, was interviewed by The Straits Times for the article titled “ Pace the preparation, be positive” on mental preparations for examinations.

Dr Khng shared on findings from her projects “Deep Breathing as a Self-Regulatory Tool for Reducing Anxiety in Students - The Role of Attention” and “Effects and Mechanisms of a Deep Breathing Intervention for Test Anxiety: An Exploratory Study on the Use of Mobile EEG Headsets in Educational Research”, which affirm that students should practice deep breathing before a test to reduce anxiety and improve focus.
