CNA938 Rewind - #TalkBack: #HazeHealth: Are you ready if school closures or illness occurred? Ready to help your children take on the exams?

With Singapore’s haze situation raising concerns about health and possible disruptions to schooling, families may need to prepare for changes to examination arrangements.

Education Minister Desmond Lee has said that schools are prepared to respond if air quality reaches hazardous levels, with measures such as school closures and examination postponements to be considered where necessary. This is particularly relevant as students sit for, or prepare to take, the N-, O- and A-Level examinations.

On CNA938’s TalkBack, Dr Wong Hwei Ming, Senior Education Research Scientist and Assistant Centre Director at the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice, National Institute of Education, joined host Daniel Martin to discuss how parents can support their children amid such uncertainty.

The conversation explored how families can prepare for haze-related illness or disruptions while helping students remain calm, adaptable and focused on their examinations.
