Assistant Professor Azilawati Jamaludin and Dr Astrid Schmied speak at the Singapore Management University’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Annual Webinar

Asst Prof Azilawati Jamaludin, Assistant Dean,  Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC), and Assistant Professor at NIE’s Learning Sciences and Assessment Academic Group (LSA AG), were invited to speak at the Singapore Management University’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Annual Webinar together with Dr Astrid Schmied, Education Research Scientist also from SoLEC. Held on 14 October 2022, the webinar themed “Developments on Science of Learning in Education” was attended by more than 100 participants from local education institutions as well as those from the ASEAN University Network.

Asst Prof Azilawati started the webinar with her segment titled “Overview of Science of Learning, including Science of Learning in Education Centre at NIE and its tri-strategic thrusts”. Following that, Dr Astrid Schmied gave her presentation titled “Overview of translating Science of Learning (SoL) research findings into the practicalities of Higher Education”. Their segments provided the participants with advances in the field of Science of Learning, and how research in this field can translate into practical teaching and learning impacts in the context of higher education. The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A segment between the speakers and participants.
