For those looking at sports-related careers, the BSc (Sport Science & Management) programme is a robust interdisciplinary degree programme focusing on the scientific principles behind exercise and the human body along with the management of sport organisations. SSM is the only undergraduate programme offered by a local tertiary institute that provides academic and professional pathways to sport-related careers.
In addition to the BA/BSc (Academic Discipline and Education) programme mentioned above, we also offer a variety of Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Teacher Leadership Programmes that are value-based, learner-centred, evidence-informed and future-focused. Initial teacher preparation programmes at NIE provide a holistic development for student teachers.
The NIE practicum enables student teachers to acquire beginning teaching competencies and is a core component of the Initial Teacher Preparation programme in NIE.
NIE International Practicum provides school attachment opportunities for student teachers to understand and appreciate Singapore’s education system.
Teaching Scholars Programme
The NTU-NIE Teaching Scholars Programme is the flagship programme of the office. The TSP augments the 4-year Bachelor of Arts/Science in Double Major Programme, providing student teachers a well-rounded education to prepare for the teaching profession.
The Office of Teacher Education (OTE) oversees the planning and delivery of all Initial Teacher Preparation (ITP) programmes and Sport Science and Management programme conducted by NIE.
