Quality Teaching Tool (QTT): Raising the Bar in Preschool Education
The Quality Teaching Tool (QTT), jointly developed by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) and the National Institute of Education (NIE), was a landmark initiative shaped through research and consultation with local Early Childhood (EC) professionals.
Created to guide educators of children aged two to six, the QTT established a shared understanding of quality teaching, supported self-reflection, and identified areas for professional growth.
Key features include:
3 Domains
8 Subdomains
46 Indicators, aligned with the Skills Framework for Early Childhood (SFw EC), EYDF, and NEL Framework.
Since its introduction, the QTT has provided preschool educators with practical strategies to enhance daily teaching and elevate children’s learning experiences—leaving a lasting impact on the early childhood sector.
