Professor David Hung speaks at the launch of the ArtScience Laboratory at the ArtScience Museum

In celebration of its 14th anniversary, the ArtScience Museum launched the ArtScience Laboratory on 17 February 2025. The Laboratory is an educational hub designed to inspire creativity and curiosity. Professor David Hung, Centre Director of the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC), was invited to share his insights on the interplay between formal and informal learning. He also explored how educational spaces, such as the ArtScience Laboratory, as an informal learning space, can foster constructivist-inquiry learning to prepare learners for the future. Key competencies essential for this preparation include adaptability, cognitive flexibility, critical thinking, creativity, social-emotional regulation, and the ability to generate new contexts, and inspire collective engagement.
