Centre for Assessment and Evaluation (CAE): Exploring Effective Strategies for Building Customised GPTs: Automatic Coding of Classroom Dialogues

On 24 June 2025, we were delighted to host PhD Candidate Han Dongkeun and Bai Luwei from the Cambridge Educational Dialogue Research Group, University of Cambridge for a sharing session on their recent project.

During the session, both Han and Bai introduced the use of MyGPT tool to automatically analyse teacher and student dialogue during lessons, greatly reducing the manual workload required for coding. This AI tool aims to help educators speed up analysis and improve their teaching practices in a more timely and informed manner.

The session brought together colleagues from across NIE interested in and investigating similar areas of work.

Han and Bai welcome any enquires about their work and can be reached at dh664@cam.ac.uk.

A big thank you to all who attended!
