Asst Prof Lim Fei Victor Publishes a Book on Multimodality
Asst Prof Lim Fei Victor, from NIE’s English Language and Literature Academic Group, has published a book with Routledge as part of the Routledge Studies in Multimodality book series, titled Designing Learning with Embodied Teaching: Perspectives from Multimodality.
The book posits the teacher’s gestures, and use of the classroom space and tools around them as a multimodal ensemble of meaning, aiming to help teachers recognise this part of their pedagogy and how it contributes to students’ learning experiences. Designing Learning with Embodied Teaching: Perspectives from Multimodality was informed by findings from Asst Prof Lim’s project, “Integrating Multiliteracies into the English Language Classroom: Developing an Instructional Approach to Teach Multimodal Literacy (Critical Viewing and Effective Representing of Multimodal Texts)”.
