This workshop explores the frontiers of online behavioral research, demonstrating how new technologies are enabling the large-scale collection of high-quality data outside of the traditional lab. A primary highlight of this session is Labvanced's peer-reviewed, deep-learning-powered eye-tracking methodology. This technology offers unprecedented accuracy and accessibility, empowering researchers to collect thousands of eye-tracking data sets remotely. The workshop will provide a hands-on demonstration of the entire workflow: from initial calibration and implementation in various paradigms to the final analysis of eye-tracking data. Applications for Cognitive Psychology, Economics, and Marketing Research will be shown during the process.

Beyond eye-tracking, the workshop will delve into other cutting-edge features for creating sophisticated online studies. Specifically,  it will demonstrate how to implement multi-participant designs for economic games and social interaction research, leverage AI integrations like ChatGPT, utilize automatic speech-to-text transcription, and show the power of longitudinal studies. Finally, the workshop will offer a glimpse into the future of remote biosensors, with an outlook on upcoming technologies such as webcam-based pupillometry and heart rate detection (remote photoplethysmography). By the end of this workshop, attendees will understand how to transform traditional lab-based experiments into powerful remote studies, unlocking unprecedented scale and paving the way for groundbreaking new insights.
