Dr. Nripan Mathews is a Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering as well as the Energy Research Institute @ NTU at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He obtained his first degree in Materials Engineering from NTU and his MSc under the Singapore-MIT alliance. Following his PhD at Paris VI University, he was also a Visiting Scientist at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

Nripan’s interest lies in making cheap abundant unconventional electronic materials through cost-effective techniques for making electricity and fuels from solar power. These include metal oxides and organic-inorganic halide perovskites which can be made through solution based processes while maintaining high efficiencies. Additional interests include charge transport in oxide nanowires, carbon nanotubes, graphene and organic thin films. He is interested both in the fundamental properties of the electronic materials as well as their applications in practical devices such as solar cells, thin film transistors and memory devices.  He has published about 70 peer reviewed papers.
