EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy
Established in April 2019 jointly by NTU, Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), the EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy @NTU (EcoLabs) aims to build and accelerate deep-tech energy innovation capabilities in Singapore to support the nation’s future energy transition. This joint initiative aims to help local energy startups and SMEs to successfully commercialise and scale their innovation efforts. This is done by providing them with essential translation facilities such as Research, Development & Deployment (RD&D), lab infrastructure, testbed sites, and business opportunities.
EcoLabs enables access to infrastructure and manpower for startups to innovate, provide funding opportunities, source matching testbeds for startups to deploy technology, and provide pathways for local startups to gain access to exciting overseas market opportunities. EcoLabs’ open innovation model revolves around testbeds. They work with corporate partners and landlords to source suitable testbeds and convert them into platforms where multiple startups can deploy their technologies to demonstrate to customers
