Lydia Wong is an Associate Professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Cluster Director at Energy Research Institute @NTU. She received her B.Applied Science (1st Class Honors) and PhD from NTU. 

Her research interest is in the structural and chemical modification of semiconductor materials for clean energy and electronic applications. She has published more than 160 publications in international peer reviewed journals and cited more than 10,000 times. She has given invited and keynote talks at international conferences such as MRS Spring / Fall (USA), E-MRS, ECS Spring, PVSEC, etc. She has organized multiple symposia and served as advisory committee member in international renowned conferences, as well as acted as reviewers in international grant funding agencies and reputed journal publications. She is currently serving as Secretary of Materials Research Society – Singapore (MRS-S).

Prof Wong has been awarded a number of teaching awards, such as Honored Teacher of Koh Boon Hwee Award, Nanyang Education Award (School) in 2013 and 2020 as well as MSE Teacher of the Year award in 2014. 

In the international research community, she serves as an Editorial Advisory Board member of Solar RRL (Wiley) and Nano Research Energy as well as Editorial Board Member and Associate Editor of Materials Advances and Journal of Materials Chemistry A (RSC). In 2023, she was elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
