The Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD) hosts two different events
On 22 March 2024, the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD) hosted a workshop titled “Workshop with CRCD & NTU-IRB", where CRCD shared their latest research and projects while the NTU Institutional Review Board (IRB) emphasised key ethical guidelines. The IRB also provided examples of data repositories, as well as engaging collaborative discussions among the participants.
CRCD also hosted their first seminar for 2024 on 25 March, titled “Conversations about Translating Research into Practice in the Singapore Early Childhood Sector”, where Dr Nirmala Karuppiah, Deputy Centre Director of CRCD, began the seminar with her presentation on a broad overview of the Singapore early childhood sector. With this background information, CRCD researchers facilitated a group discussion with NIE colleagues to understand their current experiences on translating ‘research into practice’, as well as to formulate new ways of engaging the Singapore early childhood sector in the areas of research, teaching, and service. The seminar was attended by a total of 30 NIE colleagues across different academic groups and concluded with potential ideas for future collaboration opportunities.
