Professional Development Workshop, “Neuroeducation for Teaching Diverse Learners”

On 30 May 2023, the Science of Learning in Education Centre (SoLEC) was invited to Pei Chun Public School to deliver a large-scale professional development workshop entitled “Neuroeducation for Teaching Diverse Learners” to 105 teachers from Pei Chun Public School and S3 Cluster schools. Asst/P Azilawati Jamaludin led the 1st half of the workshop, on the theoretical aspects of neuroeducation for teaching diverse learners. The 2nd half of the workshop took a hands-on approach, comprising SoLEC researchers-facilitated demonstrations: Dr Jack Fogarty (overview of tools and technologies used for neuroeducation), Dr Tan Aik Lim (electrodermal activity), Dr Jessica Tan (eye tracking), Ms Wang Fengjuan (functional near infrared spectroscopy), Mr Wong Jin Nen (iMotions Software Suite), and Ms Bernadette Ng, Ms Nithi Rajarajan & Mr Timurcan Ozcelik (electroencephalography). Attendees expressed interest in the educational applications of these techniques.
