Dr Kenneth Y T Lim and NIE Teaching Scholar Mr Samuel Li Co-present Conference Paper
Dr Kenneth Y T Lim, Research Scientist from the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice, has been mentoring a NIE Teaching Scholar specialising in Geography education, Mr Samuel Li, from the Humanities and Social Studies Education Academic Group, under the auspices of the NTU’s Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA) programme
Together, Dr Lim and Mr Li shared a paper written on a learning intervention carried out by Mr Li as part of his URECA experience at this year’s annual conference of the Royal Geographical Society. Their paper, titled “Personal spaces and communal consequences: navigating geographical tensions with the Socially Responsible Behaviour through Embodied Thinking (SORBET) Project”, was presented in a session on “The geographies of digital health” on 31 August 2021.
Mr Li chaired the entire session on behalf of a panel comprising three other geography researchers all based in the United Kingdom and Europe. The annual conference of the Royal Geographical Society is the premier conference among the academic geography community. This year’s conference took place as a hybrid on-site / online event, with on-site representation at the Society’s physical premises in London.
