Congratulations to Dr Lee Yew Jin
Dr Lee Yew Jin, Associate Professor at the Natural Sciences and Science Education (NSSE) Academic Group of NIE, has co-written a paper titled “Vygotsky’s Neglected Legacy”: Cultural-Historical Activity Theory” that was published in the American Educational Research Association’s Review of Educational Research journal. The paper was co-written with Dr Wolff-Michael Roth of the University of Victoria and can be accessed here.
As of July/August 2015, data from Essential Science Indicators has determined that the number of citations received by Dr Lee’s paper has placed it in the impressive top 1% in the field of social sciences, based on a highly cited threshold for the field and publication year.
Dr Lee’s research interests are in primary science teaching, learning in and out of schools, hands-on minds-on inquiry and curriculum research. He is the Principal Investigator of several OER-funded research projects, one of which is titled “Literacy in Learning Science: A Vygotskian Approach”.
