​​Associate Professor Ranjan Singh elected Fellow of The Optical Society

Associate Professor Ranjan Singh, a faculty member at SPMS, has been elected as a Fellow of the Optical Society (OSA), in recognition of his pioneering contributions to terahertz science and technology.

The OSA is one of the leading scientific societies dedicated to the study of optics and photonics. Founded 100 years ago as The Optical Society of America, it has been known since 2008 as The Optical Society, in recognition of its global reach. Fellow membership is limited to no more than ten percent of its membership, and is reserved for members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics.

Associate Professor Singh was honoured for his development of active metamaterial platforms with novel dynamic material systems, including superconductors, for ultrafast switching, sensing, and communication applications.
