Students’ Take: LKCMedicine Serves Up Camaraderie at 2nd Ping Pong Day

LKCMedicine’s 2nd Ping Pong Day united students, staff, and table tennis enthusiasts for a day of spirited rallies and friendly competition. Held on 29 November 2025 at the Multi-Purpose Hall in the Clinical Sciences Building, the event transformed the space into a vibrant hub of energy and sportsmanship. Organised by the dedicated Sports Committee of the 13th Students' Medical Society, the tournament ran from 10am to 6pm and featured both Singles and Doubles categories.

The day kicked off with a warm welcome from the Sports Committee, who outlined the event’s rules and format. Soon, players were warming up and getting to know their opponents, filling the hall with excitement and anticipation. The inclusion of both Singles and Doubles categories ensured that players of all experience levels could participate— fostering an atmosphere where seasoned players shared tips and newcomers received encouragement from their peers.

As the matches unfolded, the hall came alive with cheers and applause. The Singles games showcased agility, precision, and quick reflexes, with rallies that had spectators on the edge of their seats. Meanwhile, the Doubles competition brought an added layer of teamwork and communication, as pairs developed impressive synergy and turned each volley into a display of skill and camaraderie.

Midway through the event, participants took a well-deserved lunch break featuring freshly baked pizzas and Wingstop wings – a crowd favourite. The hearty meal provided a welcome chance to recharge, mingle, and share laughter before the afternoon sessions resumed.

The later rounds continued with high energy and unwavering sportsmanship. Whether in victory or defeat, players applauded each other’s efforts and cheered on thrilling shots. Between matches, students and staff from different batches bonded over the shared joy of play, embodying the event’s goal of building stronger community ties through sport.

As the final matches concluded, the hall buzzed with good spirits. The Sports Committee wrapped up the day by thanking all players, supporters, and volunteers for making the event a success. Even after the official close, many lingered to play casual matches, snap photos, and celebrate the friendly spirit that defines LKCMedicine’s Ping Pong Day.
