Editor's Note: A Year of Accolades, A Future of Possibilities at LKCMedicine

By Sanjay Devaraja, Editor, The LKCMedicine

As we welcome 2026, the LKCMedicine community stands on the strong foundations built over an exceptional 2025, a year marked by excellence in education, research, and corporate services. From our resilient Class of 2025 graduating as a new generation of doctors, to our colleagues’ many contributions across clinics, classrooms, corporate offices and laboratories, the past year has shown what is possible when our community rallies around a shared purpose.

Last year, our people and programmes earned significant recognition on local and international stages, including honours at the Singapore Business Review Management Excellence Awards, grants awarded to groundbreaking research, and the Academic Health System Awards which celebrate impactful leadership, innovation, and partnership across our academic health system. Within the School, the Dean’s Awards and Appreciation Day shone a spotlight on educators, researchers, professional staff, and teams whose dedication has helped elevate LKCMedicine into the ranks of the world’s top medical schools in just 15 years.

As you read this first issue of 2026, I hope you celebrate with us these achievements from the past year that are inspiring us to aim even higher in advancing medical education, research, and care for the communities we serve. Here’s to a year of renewed collaboration, meaningful impact, and continued pride in being part of the LKCMedicine family.

Happy New Year and happy reading!
