SPMS Faculty Recognised at the 2025 Nanyang Awards

We’re proud to celebrate Prof Bei Xiaohui, Prof Liew Chin Hin Timothy, and Prof Zhang Baile, who were honoured at this year’s Nanyang Awards for their contributions to teaching and research.

 

Prof Bei Xiaohui and Prof Liew Chin Hin Timothy received the Nanyang Education Award (School) for their dedication to teaching and mentorship. Their passion for helping students think deeply and explore ideas continues to shape the SPMS learning community.

Prof Zhang Baile was awarded the Nanyang Research Award for his work in topological and non-Hermitian photonics, where mathematics meets light.

“Don’t be afraid to ask simple questions or to fail,” he says — a reflection of the curiosity and persistence that drive his research.
