Visiting Research Student Schemes 

Global Connect Fellowship (GCF) is a short-term research programme for graduating Bachelor’s or Master’s students from overseas universities. GCF attracts top students from leading universities worldwide. We welcome students with a strong interest in research and in pursuing PhD at SPMS to join us as Global Connect Fellows.

The programme offers two intakes annually: Spring (Feb–Mar) and Summer (Jul–Aug). Applications typically open in Aug/Sept for the Spring intake and Jan/Feb for the Summer intake.

Key financial support:

• Full tuition fees waiver
• Fully Paid on-campus accommodation
• Stipend of SGD 5,000 (total) 
  

• Inbound students (undergraduate or postgraduate) must be active students from a reputable university. Applicants are subject to review and approval by NTU.
• The intended research must be part of the student’s degree requirements and must be endorsed by their home university.
• Students should refer to the faculty directory at the Division of Mathematical Sciences or the  Division of Physics and Applied Physics to obtain supervision confirmation and period of research attachment. 
• Students are required to pay registration, miscellaneous, and research fees (where applicable) to NTU. Please note that research fees will be waived for research duration of up to three (3) months. 
• Selected outstanding NGNE students may be considered for the SPMS Visiting Research Student Award, subject to supervisor recommendation, School selection, and funding availability. 
• Applications should preferably be submitted at least 3 months before the intended research start date.
