In conversation with Prof Xavier Garbet: Driving fusion energy development

 

Prof Xavier Garbet was recently featured in a discussion on fusion energy research and the challenges of developing sustainable clean power. Appointed the inaugural Temasek Chair Professor in Clean Energy at NTU Singapore in August 2022, his work focuses on understanding plasma behaviour inside fusion reactors. At temperatures hotter than the sun’s core, plasma becomes turbulent and can lose particles and energy, with large instabilities potentially disrupting the reaction and making sustained fusion extremely difficult. Learn more about the conversation here.
