Convocation

Selection of the Valedictorian

At each SPMS Convocation ceremony, a valedictorian will deliver the valedictory speech on behalf of the graduating class. The valedictorian is elected by the entire SPMS graduating class from a roster of candidates nominated by the School, based on the following criteria:

  • Excellent academic performance
  • Leadership qualities, e.g. high levels of participation in extracurricular activities and community service
  • Good public-speaking skills

Online elections are conducted in April each year.

Second Major and Concentration Certificates

The Second Major Certificates will be issued to graduates together with their degree certificate and official transcript.

Students who are eligible for the Concentration Certificates will be contacted via email by SPMS Undergraduate Studies. Uncollected certificates will be kept by SPMS for two years after the Convocation ceremony.
