Odyssey Competitions

International Academic Competitions

In the past academic year (2019/20), the Odyssey Programme has, with the help of tireless faculty members, laboratory and administrative staff, as well as postgraduate students, supported SPMS student teams in the following international competitions.

PLANCKS - Physics League Across Nations for kiCK-ass Students

In May 2019, a team of four students from NTU participated in PLANCKS competition, an annual international physics competition. This year the competition was organised by the University of Southern Denmark and took place in Odensk, Denmark. The NTU team was placed 11th out of 34 entries. Congratulations to all the team members!

Organized by Physik UP – the physics student association of the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, the international final round will take place from 6 May to 9 May 2021.

The Odyssey club will be organizing Singapore's official Preliminary, and more information will be releasing soon!

Official news, eligibility and rules can be found on the official PLANCKS page.

International Mathematics Competition

The IMC is an annual competition targeted at students around the world excelling in mathematics. Our students travelled to Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, for this year's IMC. Competition was fierce, with 360 students from 115 universities around the world taking part. At least a third of these students were former participants of the International Mathematical Olympiad.

From 28 July to 3 August 2019, a team of four NTU students participated in the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) for University Students, led by Team Leader Dr Fedor Duzhin. Congratulations to the winners!
