Editor's Note: Halfway Through, All the More Ahead

As we reach the midpoint of 2026, this issue offers a moment to reflect on how far LKCMedicine has come and the direction in which we are heading. The launch of NTU2030 sets a clear and ambitious course for the University, one that resonates strongly with the School’s own trajectory. Across education, research, and innovation, we are seeing how technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a global outlook are shaping not just what we do, but how we do it.

This progress is perhaps most meaningfully reflected in our people and their achievements. We celebrate the Class of 2026 as they take the next step into the profession, carrying with them the values and training that define LKCMedicine.

At the same time, initiatives such as the RISE programme and breakthroughs in dengue and psychosis research demonstrate how our faculty and partners are advancing knowledge with real-world impact. These efforts are complemented by a vibrant academic community, seen in events like the Research Symposium, and a strong culture of service, exemplified by a decade of student engagement through Project ISIP.

Equally important is the strength of our growing community. Homecoming 2026 and our alumni and staff features highlight the enduring connections that continue to shape the School’s identity. From pioneer graduates now taking on leadership roles, to faculty pushing the frontiers of population health and AI in medicine, these stories speak to a collective commitment to improving healthcare in Singapore and beyond.

As we look ahead to the second half of the year, there is much to anticipate. NTU2030 will continue to unfold, bringing new opportunities to reimagine medical education and research. Our community will grow further with new students, new collaborations, and new ideas, and we remain focused on preparing future-ready doctors and scientists equipped to navigate an increasingly complex healthcare landscape.
